Austria Recycling, AREC was founded in 1946, as 'Oesterreichische Produktionsfoerderungsgesellschaft' (OEPG), todays name since 1987.

AREC and its partner Austria Recycling & Consulting GmbH, ARECON Ltd. is an interface between economy and ecology, acting as a bridge between industry and waste disposal. Austria Recycling is familiar with the requirements of municipalities and companies, of collectors and sorters, of recyclers and producers, of the legislators and the local authorities and, of course, of the consumer. Austria Recycling offers a variety of services in the following fields:

Communication

Austria Recycling provides a platform for discussion beween, and an interface for the specific interests of the collectors and processors at the very centre of the waste disposal, environmental and recycling debate. Contacts with public bodies enable Austria Recycling to influence the establishment of legal, logistic and technological frameworks.

Re-Distribution-Logistics

As a go-between between the waste and recycling industries and the municipalities, Austria Recycling produces EDP-solutions which enable the optimisation of the material and financial flows and ensure an efficient process for all involved.

Consultancy

Austria Recycling is working on tailior-waste disposal concepts for municipalities and associations under the motto "regional instead of central" as well as on a national level. Austria Recycling is also developing new ideas and solutions for the optimisation of the recycling chain. Our environmental consultancy programme supports small and medium enterprises (SME) and communities in particular in the implementation of environmental management systems (e.g. EMAS or ISO 14000 ff). These programmes are promoted and executed by ARECON Ltd. which was outsourced in 1998 with 6 employees. Our offer ranges from training through to accompanying support in the implementation of measures.
